Rachel DeVries/Lindsay Fischer: Varsity
Rachel and Lindsay are both 2002 graduates of the Jenison cheer program. Both were coached by former varsity coach Wendy Kenney while in high school. They have been co-coaching at the varsity level together for years now.
Rachel graduated from the University of Michigan where she was on the co-ed cheer team. After college, she cheered for the Detroit Pistons on their stunt and tumble team and then started coaching Notre Dame Prep's varsity cheer team. Rachel coached at NDP for 5 years before returning to Jenison to coach. Rachel has been coaching since 2007 and, during that time, has coached at state finals three times (2010, 2011, 2012), regional coach of the year (2011, 2014), conference champs (2022, 2016, 2014, 2013 co-champs), conference runner up (2015, 2023), district runner up (2011, 2012), regional runner up (2011, 2012), and regional qualifier (2008 - 2016 & 2023). Rachel and her husband have three kids. She is the Sr. Vice President, Human Resources for a Hospital Sisters Health System (in IL and WI). She travels as needed for work but is mostly remote.
Lindsay has been involved in the Jenison cheerleading program since graduating in 2002. Lindsay has coached at every Jenison cheerleading level from 5th grade through Varsity. She coached 5/6 for 2 years, 7th for 2 years, 8th for 2 years, 9th for 1 season, JV for 5 years and now coaches at the Varsity level. Until recently, Lindsay had been our Jenison cub cheerleading director for many years in addition to coaching at various levels within the program. Lindsay is also the director of all our home competitions through the competitive season and has functioned in this position since 2010. Lindsay has coached Jenison Varsity during their time as conference champs (2016), conference runner up (2015, 2023) and their years as regional qualifiers (2015, 2016, 2023). Lindsay and her husband have one child and Lindsay is an accounts payable team lead at Gordon Food Service.

Kaylee Lenartz: JV
Kaylee is our JV head coach. She went to Kenowa Hills High School and was on the varsity cheer team all four years. Kaylee was also in all three rounds on varsity throughout her high school career. Her team competed at state finals three out of her four years in high school which gave her an incredible experience. After high school Kaylee continued cheering on the Michigan State University All-Girl Stunt and Cheer team for two years. She has always been very passionate about cheer and cannot wait to share it with the program.

Brooke Teunis: 8th Grade
Brooke is a graduate from the Hudsonville cheerleading program. She cheered at Hudsonville from third grade through her senior year of high school. During that time, Brooke fell in love with the sport of cheerleading and is excited to spread the passion for cheerleading to others. Brooke graduated recently from Hope College and has a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. She is currently a teacher within the Jenison school district - she teaches at Sandy Hill Elementary!

Mary Persak: 7th Grade
Mary graduated from Jenison in 2021. She had cheered at Jenison since the fourth grade and was on varsity for three years, coached by Wendy Kenney. Mary is currently attending Grand Valley State University where she is on the cheer team and is studying International Relations with a minor in Spanish. Mary plans to go into international law related to humanities.
